Canon G10/11, Panasonic Lumix/Leica LX3, Olympus EP-1 (I think thats the right, the multi lens micro 4/3 system), or the new Lumix with the micro 4/3 system as well (when it comes out)
now i am understanding a bit about Mp etc...and only print 6X4..perhaps 10x8 at a push
and using the 300dpi as a guideling for printing
80x90000=7,200,000
7Mp would do nicely
so a later generation cam would do me...6-9Mp and a zoom
i think i may have to forego any image stability spec..maybe not such a bad thing
and a 10x zoom would do
what would be really nice is a wider angle lens as the 38 equivalent i have on the C765
many thanks all...will be checking the used gear section soon
Don't buy a Canon SX1is before trying it out! I bought one great features ie big zoom/hd video etc but VERY BAD noise at anything over iso200 on non sunny day, images were unusable so i sent it back and bought the Fuji S100fs perfect!
There have been quite a few reports regarding the SX1is (check out Amazon reviews etc) and it seems there's a bad batch of them circulating (i have seen some brilliant shots taken with them so not all are affected) a Canon techno even said there have been problems but not enough to warrant a recall etc. Glad i got rid of mine.
Cheers
Brian
Ps the new Fuji SX200 looks promising for a compact
