DSCL - Delivery Delays

Has anyone had any experience of postage delays when using DSCL? I've never had a problem with deliveries from them, up until now. None of my previous orders have been time critical, but sods law kicks in and my last order, placed on Monday, hasn't arrived and the prints were needed for tomorrow.

Just spoke to them and they, politely, pointed out that I have to wait 10 postal days before I can get my order printed again, without paying as they can't inform Royal Mail about non-delivered items until then.

I'm not complaining about DSCL, as this is in their T's & C's, and the prints from them are always first class; I was just wondering?
 
I've got to admit to having never had any issues with them for either product or delivery.

With Monday being a bank holiday, as it was, this may have impacted on their order turnaround.
 
Your problem here is Royal Mail, not DSCL.

I always tell my clients they can be next day or they can be over a week it just depends what royal mail decide to do.

Most of my orders do end up being delivered in a day or 2 though. Id suggest if you need them urgently I'd go for special delivery and charge the the client more for the postage or take the hit yourself :)
 
I always tell the clients it's a week for the photos. That way if there's a problem and I need to get them reprinted it has no affect of my delivery time.
 
I've only had delays printing from DSCL once, and that was just before Christmas. It must have been at least 18hrs after sending the order in before I saw the status changed to "dispatched".

As to the courier or Royal Mail.. only a ouiji board will be able to predict when a packet will turn-up. I have found that orders that include a large image (I frequently have at least one image printed 18x12) are almost always arrive the day after dispatch (regardless of the postage paid for), whereas a packet of 6x4 is more likely to go for a wander around the sorting office for a few days.
 
I ordered Monday evening and also Wednesday evening, Received BOTH orders today so I assumed it was RM being arsey over the Monday order.
 
Funny this has cropped up, I placed an order the best part of 3 weeks ago and it still hasn't turned up. Confirmed dispatch and delivery address with DSCL and contacted royal mail whom as far as they're concerned it must have never turned up at the local depot.

I've emailed DSCL in time for them to have the email for opening this morning, but as of yet have had no acknowledgement that they have received the email, strange seeing as all previous emails I have sent them have been responded to within an hour tops. But it may just be monday blues, or they are doing their own enquiries before responding to me.

Oh well, will wait and see if I get a response from them later on today.
