Hi all,
On Thursday I am hoping to be a druids corner for the track testing. My question is could I use the nifty fifty at that corner (for the leaning shots). My theory is that the prime will give me better quality than a zoom.
50 might be a little short even when you are so close and as it is quite a slow corner getting a decent shot with a kit zoom shouldnt be that difficult.
Hi Anon
I was at Brands just over a week ago and the inside of Druids was closed off, the gate was locked. If that is the case Thursday then a 50 will be too short.
Is it bikes or cars and long or short circuit please?
Thanks Dave, I will probably be there
Regards Paul
Fluorescent waistcoat (£1 from Lidls) and a big white L lens and the marshal invited me inside the fence on the outside last time I was there for a trackday.

Will be completely different for a proper event like the BSB, no media accreditation or PL insurance, no chance of getting inside of the track
Ah sorry - didn't realise it was a proper event. On car/bike track days the marshals are usually ok with access, even suggesting good places to stand. On this track day occasion I was really lucky as the marshall invited me to the area between fence and tyre wall.
that marshal must have been bloody crazy then. just like the marshal you need to sign-on before you cross the fence for lots of good reasons.
Yup - I had signed on as photographer and driver. Don't normally get invited there though.
Thank goodness the inside of Druids was open today.
I wandered over to Surtees which used to be a good spot - they are erecting more of their lovely high fences!! Bang goes another decent photo opportunity. :shake:

Nooooooooo!
Further digging finds that they are putting fences up on the inside of Druids... and the bit of Clearways that doesn't have big fences![]()
