Hi folks, I hope all is well.

Just taken and paid for the relevant flyer and operator IDs so I can legally fly a drone.

I am only looking at small drones like the DJI Neo for some family filming like out camping and stuff.

Those with more experience than me, would you wait now to purchase a drone to ensure it comes with the relevant remote ID, rather than buy one that doesn't?

Sorry may seem like a silly question to those more in the know but this is new to me and I am only after a smaller drone.

Any guidance / advice would be great.

I have a Mini 3 Pro and Air 2S, but neither have been flown much in the last 12 months. As with all forum posts for help you may get a variety of opinions, so when I'm researching some items I usually go toYouTube and hunt out Geeksvana for the legal / compliance aspect, then Ian in London for another take on it.

Might be worth a look, Geeksvana have had a few recent videos on the rule change and how this impacts consumer drones.

Happy shopping

Yes, I have watched a few on their recently.

I was unsure if I should bother with the whole thing to be honest as it will just be little clips of our family outings and could I be bothered (so on and so forth). I am not interested in filming other people / property / gatherings / festivals and all that stuff.

But I have done it now, so just need to know if its worth buying a Neo now (thats all I am after) or better to wait until they have these responders on them...

All new to me.

I read this which I found useful:
