I thought someone would mention the Gatwick drone mystery.

Nevertheless is anyone getting a drone for Christmas ?

Not me - I think they could be super boy's toys, but I feel that after flying one a few times my interest would fall off.

There is some excellent videos shot from Drones on the web so I hope these will continue despite the disruption at Gatwick.

I'd love one. I'd actually put it to a good use. Scottish landscapes come to mind. But there is no way in hell I'm getting through the hassle of getting the licence and some muppets will make it even worse for the rest us. You can't just ban anything and everything an idiot used for a sinister purpose. You'd have no more knives, cars, axes, hammers, maybe even work boots... That's not the path I want to go.

You don’t need a licence, unless you want fly commercially ?

If you want to sell any of the images even as prints it counts as flying commercially. You can take a risk but I'd rather not end up in hot mess. Even drone and liability insurance would be fun to get.

Just like Gatwick, every time you got near, it disappeared. :p

Yes, and I will not be surprised if this ends up with there having been no real evidence of a drone or at least most of the sightings having been false alarms.

Supposed to be some wreckage found. Maybe another wild goose (drone) chase.

Probably the UFO brigade will put in an appearance soon.

BBC website :-
"Sussex Police said there had been 67 reports of drone sightings - having earlier cast doubt on "genuine drove activity".

Det Ch Supt Jason Tingley said no footage of a drone had been obtained.

And he said there was "always a possibility" the reported sightings of drones were mistaken."

This is shaping up well. Soon be another huge expensive tail chasing exercise and the real bad guys will have been given plenty clues on how to cause chaos with little risk to themselves.

I’m training our poodle to bark at any he sees , apparently according to members of HM government it will make them fall out of the sky .

P.s where can I buy some of that weed they use in Westminster :banana::banana:
