Drone hits BA plane at Heathrow

I obviously don't know how often pilots let the planes land themselves, but from the experiences I had as a jump seat passenger whilst working for an airline, the only time I ever recall a pilot using the automated system was when we were landing at Stansted Airport in heavy fog one evening on a flight back from Venice. Every other flight (out of literally hundreds), I always witness the pilots landing the plane themselves.

As I said, I don't know what the situation is like now, it was some 15 years since I worked there.

Far more engines survive bird strikes in flight than are taken out by them.

One of the lads I was at school with worked on that. I always thought it was one of the best jobs ever

It gets better.
To really test the engines they sometimes used frozen chickens! :D

Typical mentality these days TBH, don't like it? don't understand it? ( or even can't afford it? )
Try and make a case against it, and then call for it to be banned!
