Yes
I've spotted two devices that are unknown and don't have drivers installed for them and for the life of me I can't figure out what they may be.

I've got a motherboard MSI Update program installed and everything is fine, I've tried several different driver scanners but they aren't helping. Is there anything else I could do?

If you don't know what they are, then you ain't missing anything, are you?

Relax and enjoy your computer.

But it could be something heavenly that I'm missing out on?

Unknown devices will often prevent you putting the system in to Sleep mode if that's important to you.

Best bet is post up the Vendor and Device ID's for the devices (Device Manager, Properties for the device, Details tab, then Hardware ID's in the drop-down menu.

As above, once you have the vendor id google for it to see what the driver is missing for.

Nice one, will do!

Looks like it's Device 00000023 and Device 00000024 problems and I think this is related to mass storage? No vendor details unforuntately but I'll check out the motherboard's driver download page and see if I can find anything.

I've not had any success but everything seems to be working fine so I'm just going to leave it. I have a sneaky suspicion it may be a removable device of some sort which isn't currently attached anymore (backup HD, smartphone etc)

:lol::lol::lol:

I won't mention Post 2, honest Guv:D

Uninstall it, if it's something connected to your PC it will try and reinstall the driver on a reboot. If it's not on your PC it won't try.

Ah ha!!!! I've uninstalled, rebooted and they've gone! I think I now know what it was; I took the Dell DVD drive out of the old XPS and put it in the new system, but I then got a hold of an HP lightscribe drive so I bunged that into the new one instead and put the Dell DVD back in the old unit - so it must have been some residual values cutting about I guess?

Cheers guys!

Just as we are on the subject of my new PC, I really do have to give a big thumbs up to Coolermaster, in particular Robby Bottenberg. He really went out of his way to make sure I could get a replacement windowwed side panel after I'd made an arse of it with all my fan indecisions. :thumbs:
