Drifting events near Manchester?

Now I love motorsport, but never into photographing it, being more into landscape/birds etc. I would like to give it a go though, so when my Grandson said he loved drifting, I thought it would be an opportunity to have a bash.
Now to my question, is there any taking place in the Manchester area anytime soon that I could take him to?
(and use it as an excuse to go myself!)

There are usually some drift events going on at Oulton Park, about 25mi South of Manchester. I'll have a look and find some for you.

Ok, seems like the only one for a while is tomorrow! You may have to head further South, Santa Pod has regular events, google Drift what ya brung for more info.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, tomorow's out, and Santa Pods a little to far! Used to go down there in the distant past with a bloke called Dave Warne who raced a screamin Lotus Ford Cortina! It was an animal! we even took two Foden 8 wheel 2 stroke tippers on track and he won, what a noise they used to make!

I've never been so can't vouch for the quality of cars but sometimes they have a drift event at Buxton Raceway (usually stock and banger racing).

Bit of a drive but if you can get down to silverstone on sunday, Rd 3 of the British Drift Championship on, there will be 100mph+ entries so guaranteed fun!

No thanks!! Went down there a few years ago and lost my family in the mud! Scared I might find them again!!
