........how bad was that for Xmas day programme?

I enjoyed it. I also rather like the new retro-type look interior of the TARDIS as it does remind me a little of the Starship Enterprise's bridge (I never was that keen on the previous steampunk look).

I've warmed straight away to Matt Smith as soon as he took on the role of the Doctor, he looks so perfect for it.

I found it much the same as any of the "modern" Dr Who episodes - mind bogglingly illogical and barely able to be followed at best. I normally lose interest half way through because the story makes no sense and I've given up trying to keep up. At the end of it you know he's going to save the day so it's not worth bothering.

The story was very simple I thought...

The new girl, interesting plot line they are following....

I quite enjoyed it, however it has changed, no offence to the americans on the forum, but the stories haven't been as complex or edge of your seat.

Still looking forward to the rest of the series, Jenna-Louise Coleman - is stunning, cant wait to see more!

Guess what, my children and I enjoyed it and are looking forward to the new episodes. Thankfully we are happy enough to make our own judgement on things and not be guided by eejits who seem to believe if they don't enjoy something, then it must be bad and not worthy of watching by anyone. :bang:

I'm not fond of Matt Smith as the Dr., but I rather enjoyed tonights christmas episode. The new companion has potential.

I like Matt Smith, but generally I find the Christmas episode a pile of arse. Todays was better than previous ones (the one with the whale, for example), but still not great. I'm not thrilled that they're hanging onto that Goddawful stoyline arc with the souffle girl, who was only really the delusional manifestations of an insane, emo Dalek.

Good lord. We don't have television and I had no idea this was still on. Getting older is a bit scary really, I remember the 1960s version with the Daleks!

We love Matt Smith and the whole new Doctor franchise in our house. I'm actually a little more excited about Merlin finally revealing his secret on next weeks show. 39 going on 14.

Sorry to break this to you, Dean, but the last episode of Merlin was on Christmas Eve. IPlayer?

And I thoroughly enjoyed Dr Who yesterday - highlight of the day :-)

It's a two parter I thought?

Shhhh!

Over for good? Forever??

they stopped it because 'they ran out of storylines'.
wtf, we're talking the Arthurian legends here! Poor show, BBC.
Anyway, yes, forever, unless we're talking about Dr Who, think there's 8 of those for next year.

Apparently the makers always said it would be 5 series and no more.

I can see why they've stopped it, but it's a shame. So much scope as Anna said.

Just watched the finale. Bit of a dodgy way to end it all, I thought.

Yes, Robin Hood was a decent show.

Peter Capaldi has announced that he's leaving the role after the next series.

He'll have done the pretty standard three series....for the modern Drs anyway.
Not a great surprise.
