Dunno if anyone else has this problem. I open my RAW file form the 7D in DPP, have a little tweak, and the picture looks great.

I then convert to either TIFF or JPEG and open in CS4 and the colors are all washed to crap. It looks awful.

I used to open RAW straight in CS4 but until they release the Camera Raw for the 7D I am stuck with DPP, but it is driving me mad.

Any ideas

Link to show clicky as large image. I know the RAW is still not right, but it just shows the difference.

Colour space? - are you converting to Adobe RGB?

Just a thought...

EDIT - You could convert to DNG with the free converter and then still use ACR

Still get the same washed out version when I open in CS4.

This is driving me mad, they all look fine in DPP, I have calibrated screens.

Yet as soon as I export from DPP it turns bad.

I am using PS Elements 7, the current Adobe Raw does ope 7D files even though it is not listed, so would imagine it will be the same with CS4

Ummm, CS4 will not open the CS2 file from the cam. Might try installing latest Camera Raw and see if it helps.

It will need the latest, had to download it, dosent list the 7D as supported but worked for me using Elements.

FANTASTIC. Installed Camera Raw 5.5 and CS4 now opens my CS2 files.

THANK YOU :)

No Probs, you are welcome, why they don't list it I cant understand

7D isnt listed as supported in Camera RAW and Lightroom because the it hasn't had the correct profiles for the cameras made, and tested to work to the standard Adobe require, its just using a generic .CR2 profile.

So they cannot guarantee the results from it.
