DPOTY 2023 - Chat Thread

Well, you may not be able to polish a turd, but you can try to roll it in glitter. My entry from last nights trip is up.

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen.

When I joked about rolling in glitter, it's probably good to say that this is a bit more heavily manipulated than I would normally do, with a different sky and some other effects courtesy of a popular application. The base image with moving people is not changed, but for the sake of openness I wanted to make sure people were aware.

Darkest Spring for a long time, here anyway.
I'm struggling for Urban, I may need to leave my comfort zone  :$

I got a banker shot after work the other day, but have a few other ideas to try too.

My Urban entry is in. I did wander around Norwich and took a few photos but I was not impressed with my efforts. So I thought I'd create my own city in my workshop!

And a very good and creative job you did too.

Well, I've put my 'Urban' image in but it was a hard decision between the submitted picture and this one here. In the end, I thought that this one here was a little intrusive and more than a little sad so left it off. I thought I'd like to post it anyway, as an aside to the theme.

I did take urban about a week or so ago. Not even processed yet as I'd I didn't have enough to do I shot a 21 image tracked Milky Way arch on top the Brecon's stayed for sunrise and then shot another locally last night! Plus a day out last weekend :ROFLMAO:

I'm still looking for my image, I'm stuggling :runaway::LOL:

Getting late Gav

That might be more suited to the Sheds theme later in the year?

Well I have a shot in mind but it is with a long telephoto and the weather, although dry, is not clear enough for the shot to work.

I'll wait until some wind appears to blow away the urban haze.

I'd been thinking of something like that, but in the end it wasn't happening.

Had a few days away in a large city and hoped I would find something suitable.
What I ended up with wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but thought it very apt for the topic.

I still haven't either, reminds me of school and leaving homework 'til last minute

You have the long weekend - go into town (wherever that may be), try some Street maybe? urban architecture? change the perspective - look up, shoot at ground level, use a different lens...
I'm sure you'll all find something
