Hey everyone ,

im looking for some help!!

i want to do some engagement style portraits for my friends but want a new location, i live in bournemouth/poole border so can travel about 30 minutes drive radius!

Ive done all the usual spots, bournemouth beach, coy pond, upton country park, new forest etc so would like something new maybe a field of rapeseed or hay bails?? any suggestions are really welcome as we are taking the pictures quite soon :)

Thanks everyone

Lou

You must have read my mind!;)

I've got 2 shoots coming up and am going mad trying to think of interesting and different locations.:bang:

Got some engagement shots for my wife's best friend (need to get a move on with this though as they get married on 12th September!)

And I'm doing some shots of one of my best friends and his missus, who's pregnant.

I think I'm going to do the engagement ones down by the beach huts and the beach by Boscombe pier, but not sure on the other ones. :shake:

what about swanage caves?

Havent shot there myself, but do remember going there for a few raves a couple of years ago.... bit of a trek on foot, or at least it was at midnight in the dark!

Could get some intresting lighting going on in the entrance to a cave?

Sorry, didnt see the post about being pregnant... maybe not the best idea :(

Yeh the beach is my fall back but i wanted to stretch my locations a little!! Oh they will be lovely, how about my old favourite upton country park, as they are going to be intimate ones then you can give them a little privacy as its never that busy! Hence why alot of my shots are up there! lol

Hey Tom thanks for the suggestion, i wanted a pretty summerish look to them with hazy sunshine (if we see anymore) and colourful back ground? any other suggestions? :D

Could give it a go.

I've been trying to make a list of places that I see that look interesting but never remember to write them down when I get home. :D

I've got a load of new flashes so I'm itching to try them out.;)

What about Highclifffe Castle? Im sure the gardens are in full bloom right now..

or the colourful old skool beach huts as a background of mudeford beach/hengistbury head

Yeh i have to say i was think of hengisbury head with the tall grass that could really work! ill have a recky this week! thank you very much for your suggestions, if anyone else has any please drop a line here! :D

Hengistbury head is my usual fall back plan. In amongst the grass in the dunes just up from the beach, usually as the sun is setting. Like this.

If you go to the big car park on Southbourne Coast Road instead of the main one on Broadway and walk towards the beach from there you will get to the dunes.

There are lots of fields with hay bales along the Cranborne road, just north of Wimborne. Also up around near Pimperne/Blandford. The only tricky part is trying to find somewhere to pull over. Also along there is Knowlton Church (which also looks over a hay bale-d field)

This was taken last year

A few miles from there is Horton Tower, it overlooks some nice rolling hills. Here is a pic i took the same time last year.

Kingston Maurwood, Dorchester way is also another popular place for pictures (especially weddings)

Good call Dave.

My wife is from Verwood and had already suggested Horton Tower. Might have a ride out to scout around a bit.

Oh thanks for the tips dave will definetly have a trip out there!! love the pictures youve posted, i hope that we get the nice weather like youve got there!! :D

Did the Purbecks get menioned? Spoilt for choice I reckon. St Aldhelms chapel, corfe castle, kimmeridge bay, chapmans pool, Old Harry/Ballard down, dancing ledge, winspit, worth matravers pond et al...
