Not if you've avoided the downside of auction fever.
 
Just think of all those fees - and the profits they make out of Ebay - Paypal - etc..
 
I leave the room for the last few mins.
 
I have to admit I program the Mac to bid for me at 4 seconds to go... and then go and clear off and do summat else to stop myself from doing anything silly bid-wise....

It is NOT necessary to win at any cost.....

Hate's a bit of a strong word don't you think?

I'm not keen on people who don't understand that it's the highest bid when the clock hits zero that wins - but that's just me - my job is to win the item for as little as possible - not to get into some bidding frenzy with the 'just another 50p mores'.
