Hi all,

I won on ebay on sunday, after a long fight and seeing plenty pass me by, a 50mm f1.7 SMA A lens. I am dead chuffed as it was a steal, althought yet to be proved as I have not taken delivery of it yet. Quietly confident though.

I have also ended up with a Pentax ME Super as the lens is attached to the body, but I only wanted the lens, oh well, could be fun to play with.

But, as is usual, I am getting so impatient its untrue! I know it only went in the post yesterday but I want it now, I wanna play!

I was just wondering, based on how impatient I feel, do you lot get the same when your waiting for now kit?
 
Yeah and want to test it out straight away too. I won an OM mount 2x TC on friday to use with my scope primarily, but I can also use it with what I use for Macro stuff... I had to test it out as soon as it arrived, it works a treat.
 
I'm really hoping I get home to a delivery card tonight. The collection office is at the end of my road so I'd be able to play and test it out tonight. Only the lens that is, I don't have a single roll of film in the flat.
To be honest, I don't even know if the ME Super is worth keeping? I have no idea about 35mm SLR cameras,

My younger brother had an ME super a long time ago, bought it brand new and loved it.
He took some super pictures with it.
It was a cracking little camera in it's day

I bought an ME Super last Christmas from Ffordes. Haven't had a chance to really use it properly, but have got plenty of B&W film ready to go.

I'm also awaiting delivery of new kit. I ordered an 18-50 f2.8 Sigma which is due to be delivered tomorrow. I will actually be at home so will be jumping up every time I hear a vehicle outside. Guarantee it will be on my camera within 2 minutes of arrival! :lol:

Fabs, you do realise now you have said that I am likely to bug you with any problems/help I have/need. Silly you! :nono::bonk:

I am tempted to take my cam to the depot so that I can go straigh out round town with it. prob best to use it at home first though, to at least give it a once over.

Damn these imports for coming from so far away! :lol:

Oh and if it were me, I would definately take the cam to the depot!
 
WOA!

just looked on ffordes at how much the ME Supers are. If the one I am waiting for is in good cond, ****, looking at the pics etc it seems to be, I got a bargain!:woot:

I ordered a nifty fifty from Kerso last week but I don't have a paypal account so have to wait for the cheque to clear... aaarrrghhh bloody banks.

I am now in the same boat. After months of umming and aahing and testing, I finally plumped for a new Canon 450D this morning. 3-4 days delivery time so I am deperatly hoping it comes on Friday so I have a new toy to play with over the weekend!
 
I bought two lenses from a guy on the Dyxum forum last Thursday.
Agreed to have them at 11.00am, they turned up at 1.00pm the next day.
He hadn't even received the money when he sent them out, and I've only ever made about 3 posts on the site.
How trusting was that???

(And Fab, I had the Beercan on the A200 within 30 seconds :lol::lol::lol:)
 
Ordered a 50mm 1.8 from Kerso on Sat , thought it might have been here today with RMSD , thought they came from Scotland ?
 
Plus a 40D I ordered arrived at house 25mins after I went out this morning , picking up from City Link tonight.

I'm convinced couriers wait around the corner for you to go out. On two occasions I waited in all day but had to pop out for 15 minutes late afternoon. Guess when Citylink turned up both times! ;)

£26 delivered.

As I said, the proof of the bargain will be when I look at it, but the pics seemed to show it in good con so I am fairly happy. Its come from a guy who got given it by a reletive but doesn't want it, and luckily on my part hadn't bothered looking to see how much just the lens it has was going for on ebay.

So, we'll see when I get it.

Incidentally incase you hadn't guessed, its not made it here today:bang:

That is a bargain. I paid £50 for mine (including the 50mm f1.7). I'm sure it'll turn up tomorrow.
 
I was so impatient yesterday waiting for my 50D to arrive on a pre 12pm delivery. The DHL van turned up, driver got out and couldn't find my parcel so he drove off. It took until 4pm for it to arrive and I was like a kid at christmas when it did. Boxes and paper everywhere, LOL.
 
Yeh missed the van driver yest so went to City Link depot last nite at 7.15 to collect 40D , currently awaiting RMSD before 1pm for 2 lens , he"s normally here for 9.30"ish.

:lol::lol::lol: Sounded like me when I was informed that my Really Right Stuff ballhead had arrived at my local Parcelforce depot.

Had to open it there and then, even though I didn't have the Gitzo with me :cuckoo:

For the others waiting for stuff, hope they turn up today :thumbs:
 
I am waiting now for a phone call from my fiance when she gets home at lunch to find out if my ME super and more importantly the 50mm has been delivered.

If a card has been left I'll be takeing a quick run to the depot (at the end of my road).

We humans are a funny bunch arent we? no patience, although we like to pretend we have!
 
Well 8mins to go before the RMSD before 1pm deadline , had one week before last and it turned up at 3.30pm.
Yesterdays" letter post came at 3.40pm .

Sounds like my postman delivers to you too. 4pm when he turns up round here lately.
 
I just hope that after all this waiting it is a "proper" lens and not one of those cheap "itchyfanny" 50mm f8.5 copies that are doing the rounds

Seems like there are a few of us - I ordered a nifty 1.8 for my 400D from Kerso last Friday... he has told me it was shipped today and I CAN'T WAIT to try it!!! Trouble is it's dark when I leave for work and dark when I come home so can't do too much until the weekend anyway but I CAN'T WAIT!!!

But it's an ideal lens for low light. Get out there and shoot in the dark! :D

Well, mine came today. Just having a play now. Going to give the lens a real trial friday afternoon around town. The ME Super was in good nic, and the batteries work too so will run some film through that at some point too.

The lens is in very good nic, smooth focus ring, I am really pleased with it.

Ill post the pics friday afternoon, but don't expect miracles, I aint very good yet so I doubt they will do the lens justice!! :lol:
 
My Sigma 17-70 turned up at 1.40pm , no sign of the 50mm yet , also got a compatable 511 battery which wouldn"t charge .
 
My new camera is apparently "At the Leeds Depot" and is "out for delivery" so here's hoping for an early delivery. The quoted delivery time was 3-4 days which would make it tomorrow.

*crosses fingers*
 
Yeh I"m sat in waiting for postie to deliver lens , then when I need to go out bet he comes lol.
