Yes
You have just put your camera batteries on charge because they are both fully drained... only to walk into another room, look out the window and see not 1 but 2 funnel clouds forming  Then you frantically run and see if there is just enough charge on either battery to get at least 1 shot, but by the time you get back to the window both funnels have dispersed :bang:

Have you seen those clouds this morning? The sky is full of all different kinds.

But FFS 2! :shake:

Go on, make me feel better and tell me about similar just missed shots you have had (or not as the case may be ).

Don't you have a penlight tray? I'm assuming you have a grip because you talk of two batteries?

No I don't have a grip. I ran both batteries down to experiment with which charged better and lasted longer (one is a Canon one and one is a Jessops own brand)... stupid time for an experiment eh?

And what's a penlight tray? :embarrassed:

.. stupid time for an experiment eh?

YEP! Sorry not in diplomatic mode today BUT be glad it wasn't on a paying job like I had the misfortune (stupid lack of planning! )

Don't know what kit you use but the grips on both my 350 and 20D came with a plastic tray/casette that holds 6 or so penlights.

The 20 chews them up much quicker than the 350 but they do save face!:bonk:

I know the feeling.
I got to work a year or so ago and see the most unbelievable sunrise, i'm sure the sky was on fire, add to that I was in a valley, It would have made an awesome shot but I forgot to take a camera with me that day.
It was one of those once in a lifetime shots.

Over the last two years, I am haunted by two shots the most.

1) I was traveling through Switzerland in a car with a friend. It was morning and there was fog due to some snow melting or something or rather. We drove around a mountain, and there was a large house on the top of a mountain, serounded by clouds/fog in the valley around it. If I close my eyes I can still see it. We could not stop due to the narrow road.

2) Some friends and I were walking across the bridge outside waterloo station one night, and noticed a guy climbing over the rail and preparing to jump. We called police, and they arrived a few minutes later. There is one shot I can still see of the guy on the other side of the railing, threatening to jump off, and policeman with one had on his belt and the other hand out in front of him palm facing the man in a stop gesture. They were both iluminated by soft tunston lighing from overheald to give a dream like quality. I had no camera with me.

There are others as well, but these are the ones that stick out most in my mind.
