You may remember some time ago that we all discussed smashing our kit up and sticking with a simple LG Renoir mobile phone. Well I upgraded last week and decided that I'd give this phone a go. It looks smart, feels good in the hand and is an absolute piece of crap :) It's frozen up on my twice and last night refused to charge.

But the picture quality on the camera...what can I say, they were right to show them crushing a load of SLRs because it's fair better than the grainy pictures we all get... Sarcasm is hard to convey in type...the camera is woeful, 8mp of utter garbage.

And my biggest gripe?

The freaking stylus is in a horid little puch that hangs off the phone. Apparently fitting the 2 inch stylus into the phone casing was just too hard. Muppets. Still, it's better than my old N73, but I'm not surprised it was a free upgrade!

Shame on you for even the slightest thought that the camera would be better than our trusty Olys ;)

Ah, I never thought it would be, but when LG show that you should crush your SLR in their advert, you expect something a bit better, at least on a par with a compact...no such luck. It's a pile of crap :)

I've just been looking at this as an upgrade. Would you advise me not to bother then?

Not sure, when it works it's a cracking phone, but it's frozen up on me a couple of times, and the stylus really does bug me. But it has built-in sat nav (Orange maps at £4 a month though and you need a signal for it too work). I've calmed down since my original rant. But I do wish I'd done a little more research.

I have always been dissapointed with LG phones. I never learn though, and every few years get tempted by something snazzy. The last thing was the Viewty, what a crock that was!

Cheers,
James

Sounds like you had the same probs as I had with my new N96. I put up with it for a couple of days and went back to my N95.
It used to freeze about half a dozen times a day. A real piece of s%*t. The camera wasn't too bad though..... (as phones go.)

Kev.

A telephone it rings you answer and talk tp somebody

A camera you use to take photographs

Modern mobiles Jack Of All Trades Master Of None

Thanks for the info, that's what I've been doing wrong

So basically, all Canon owners would be better off with one of these beauties? ;) :p
