Crazy, some people really don't read auctions. I sold a rare European Ramones record sleeve once for good money with no record, the sleeve itself was rare and mega £££ with the vinyl, i made it as clear as crystal i had no record with it but still got a complaint when the buyer got it for a 5th of its complete vinyl value.

As for camera boxes ive still got them from everything ive ever bought, if only for the time i might sell stuff on ebay as boxed seemed to go better

There are 5 different bidders, but surely they must have assumed it contains the camera kit?
Can't possibly be worth more than £20 or so unless it was for some highly collectible rare camera?
 
Pretty clear that it is a box only, if they don't read the listing that is their problem. If I sell my old 350D and box seperately I could probably get more money :D

£82 for an empty box, or for £84, you could have had a Canon 10D.

With three batteries.
 
That is crazy - thought £20-£30 for a Macbook Pro box was insane but this is another level....
 
Some might say the seller knows exactly what they're doing. Charging for additional images, harping on about "timewasters" and blaming his poor feedback on "numpties".

Sounds like a lovely chap/lady.
 
Might be the buyer is dodgy,

Don't forget a lot of insurers will accept either a Receipt or Box as proof of ownership for an insurance claim.

Buy a cheap box, lob in a claim for your expensive camera kit that was "Stolen" and bobs your whatsit, the insurers pay up on sight of the box as proof you must have had the kit.

Seems to happen a lot apparantly.. (Its a strange old world!)

Gotta be something dodgy going on there somewhere. Either that or I'm going into the loft tonight for 3 camera boxes, 5 lens boxes and a few other bits. Should make enough for a new lens easily.

Wonder if the amazon box that my dvd came in is worth anything.....

ebayer seem to like their camera boxed and like new. Ther go rabid over iphone boxes as well. My daughter wanted me to bid on a collar for her tatty puppy toy dog thing. It was on sale new for £3 and it went for 3.60 plus postage. :cuckoo:

Part of the purchasing ritual is the research, half the fun for me. It's the new way of trapping your prey :D Lot easier than a bow and arrow.

Eh? It might be a fake auction, but there's no immediate evidence of it here to my mind.

Four different people (e***a, n***i, t***m and e***j) bid over a space of 5 days. Then bidder #3 (t***m) realised he'd been outbid and came back with a higher bid. Six hours before the auction ended, bidder #5 (d***e) had a go but was trumped by the bid which bidder #4 had made. Then bidder #6 (6***l) came along, made a bid which was trumped by #4, and then made another bid which won the auction.

Is there something about that - other than the prices of course! - which screams "fake" to you?

With nikon the serial number of the item is quite often printed on the box.

'Bidders with less than a feedback of 7 have to pay a deposit of £3 to bid - if you don't win it will get refunded':D
 
Sounds like a lovely buyer to deal with.. Can you imagine living in the same house? You'd probably be charged £2.50 to use the toilet, £3.25 to use the washing machine, and if you had feedback of less than 7, a deposit of £10 to watch the TV...
 
is he even allowed to do that?. i wonder if he tells the hmrc what he is doing....
