Hi All
2 years ago i bought a Canon SX10IS as i was just starting out in photography, i'm into wildlife but mainly macro for bugs, insects etc as i'm an amateur entomologist. Ive got a raynox 250 on it.
i would like to upgrade to a proper SLR, i was considering the Canon 450D until i saw the Nikon D5000 as the articulate screen is very useful for macro.

so which would you choose, canon 450D or Nikon D5000.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Standard response : go along to a camera shop and try each of them. Buy the one that feels "right" when you hold it - either will do the job nicely

As a newbie who bought their first DSLR earlier this year this was the best advice I received

And the biggest mistake I made was not trying out first. Half the reason I gripped my D40 at first was because of how small it feels in the hand.

Definitely try out the camera. I have large hands, and at the time I got into photography, the Nikons were way too small for me, so I went with a 300D with a grip. When I upgraded to my 30D I found that I needed a grip too. DSLRs seem like half a camera to me without the grip.
