He did some great stuff.

I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, but when someone makes it to 88, it's not a shame, it's pretty awesome.
 
A terrific actor and his son clearly inherited that. I'll not forget him as the slightly mad tank commander in Kelly's Heroes.
 
Vernon Pinkley in The Dirty Dozen was brilliant:)
