bloody "home delivery network" (whoever the **** they are!) tried to deliver a parcel this evening (about 20mins ago) on halloween, i dont answer the door on haloween as i detest trick or treating. he then stuck a note through the door, 5mins after knocking, but in the time it took for me to stand up, walk the 4 steps to the door, pickup the card and open the door, he'd already sped off in his van!

so now i have to wait until tomorrow for my box of wine to arrive, and if they decide to deliver during the day then ill miss the delivery again, and because they dont have depots, ill have a right arseache trying to get my parcel!

what use is a parcel company without a depot

also must be a really annoying job to have on halloween!

lol that's sods law that is :( An important delivery too!

Thank god Amazon's delivery guy delivered my DVD boxset today at around 3, had about 5 knocks on the door since the sun has gone down and had not opened a single one. I have no sweets or crisps in the house and will never give away money to kids !

Keep seeing "Home Delivery Network" van round here, dunno who they are!

ive been on their website, www.hdnl.co.uk and its less than useless, my girlfriend had something from nextonline delivered by them and they took it in next door, unfortunately as its halloween the neighbours arent gonna answer the door either!

Jamie your luck is as good as mine, waited in all day for my calendars from photobox then decided at 10 to 4 to go into Falkirk to get some shopping. Got home to find a note from parcel line on the floor saying they tried to deliver the parcel 5 minutes after I left the flat:(

No sympathy from me.......I've had to suffer the "night of a thousand bin bags" and you haven't

;)

hmmm...even if it was halloween, i would still answer the door if i was expecting a parcel!

2nd year on the trot we haven't had one trick or treater (and all my property/belongings are in one piece and present)! bliss!

i dont answer the door on haloween as i detest trick or treating

Serves you right then you grumpy old sod. That's called Karma, or perhaps you need visiting by the the ghosts of halloween past, present and future.

Actually, I am quite sympathetic as I only get a handfull of very nice kiddies here but I know I can be a total pain when it's hundreds of teenagers. ;)

i had a bunch of the little ba

sorry darlings trick or treating last night as in the 30th
isn't educason wonderful nowadays .

I feel sorry for the people who moved into my old house, I didn't (well, forgot to really) ots of really sweet kids all dressed up! got more every year! Hope they had lots of sweeties. :D

Only had two lots at the new place:(

We love Halloween and had over 200 trick or treaters !!!

Miserable sods the lot of you

Our wee village all seem to love Halloween. Most home-owners put 'scary' signs up or other fancy stuff, and the kids (okay kids mum's) make a real effort with costumes. I had about 20 sets of them round last night, probably 70 kids in all, all made a good effort all walked away with Halloween treats - all said thank you with sincerity too (aww)

Oh, and we don't seem to get the nicked-fences, egged windscreens, etc. we (meaning I!) used to do in days of old (lived in a town then)

Halloween, great fun

DD, I think that is the difference between a town and a small village, used to live in a village and Halloween was great fun, kids everywhere and no trouble.:D Woke up this morning to find flour and eggs all over every single car in the street. No knocks on the door asking for trick or treat just wanton chucking stuff. Pain in the butt but not damage as such.:bang:

I live in Nuneaton, abet a nice part.. and we had no problems even after we had run out a treat.. the kids (teenagers by that time of night) all just wish us a happy Halloween. must have been lucky then.. I did find some eggs n flour on the path when i did the school run in the morning.. ( 300yards up me road!)

And whats wrong with acting stupid once in a while? Its a laugh! Love all the dressing up, wish I had a photo of me as a dead fairy!

AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH! I HAVE GOT PICTURES!!!!!

Wings are made from layers of copydex on a bent wire coathaner!

kids these days just want money, especially round here, i live slap bang in the middle of two **** estates, one which is housing association and i wouldnt head up their at night as its dodgy, and the one infront is locally referred to as "bangla" (desh) as in shanty town, although in the months when fireworks are onsale it looks more like bagdahd! the kids off the estates head to our terrace and basically i dont fancy opening the door to them. mainly because suzie owns all the sweeties in my house and its impossible to get them off of her for myself let alone to give to someone else. plus the fact that they want money and by opening the door its like giving them free reign to size up where the tv and the computer are so they can size up the best way to steal it!

i did feel bad last night at one point, i was sat in the front room with the lights out on the computer and the door bell went, it was obviously some little kids with their parents and i could here one of them wishing that somoene could answer the door, probably prompted by the fact that no one else in the terrace was asnwering either. i felt bad and if id have had some sweets id have opened the door, but i didnt so i didnt answer the door as i didnt fancy having the car firebombed

Oh i think i did home delivery network an apology, phoned up today and they do have a depot, in carlisle which is as close as every other parcel company apart from royal mail/parcel force. got through to a really nice lass on the phone who gave me good directions to the depot so suzie can collect the wine on her way home tomorrow :)

they seem pretty useful to me
