Looks like I may have some dog walking duties to fulfill now in the next few weeks.

My sisters pup jumped on her in bed on Wed evening and dislocated her shoulder.

She ended up in A & E yesterday but they couldn't work out why it kept falling back out of its socket with the slightest movement :puke: so she's back at the fracture clinic today for more prodding and poking.

He's only six months old but a real handful. He's huge for his age and a Labrador so particularly daft.

6 month old labradors are a handful. Mine was hard work until she got to about 2 years old.My brother is an animal behaviourist and he told me to growl at her if she was naughty. It worked better than shouting at her. She is an absolutely beautiful dog now ( she's 5) and worth the hard work when she was little. Enjoy your walks but let him know who is boss and dont let him drag you along.I hope your sister is Ok and gets better soon.
 
My first Lab ran into me when it was a pup and broke my leg.
 
Don't tell me horror stories. We've recently got a choc Lab who's now 10 months old. So far I'm just bigger than her :D
 
:gag: ouch, best of luck to your sister. Oh and be careful when walking him Andrea, we did a first aid course last week, and the instructors last trip to a&e was for a dislocated shoulder too, from the dog suddenly launching itself after something, whilst on the lead :nuts:

Walked him last night, took 5 mins and then I had him under reasonble control. I'm used to walking strong dogs with the Staffords but he is unlike anything I've had deal with before!!

He is very large for his age and i'm hoping he stops growing very soon.

My sister has had a behaviourist to see him. He says it really is that she just needs to get to grips with his training. I wouldn't mind but she's managed to stop him jumping on the couch now, just not stopped him jumping on the bed:lol:.

She's been signed off work for 4 weeks. Then she has to go back to the hospital to see if its mending, if not she has to have an operation to stitch he ligaments back together. :gag:

Yes, and struggling back home 3/4 mile was agony, but it was either that or lie in the woods and hope someone would turn up.
Turned out a cracking dog though - they all did.
