Anyway suppose I'd better go fly my female hybrid longwing.
Is that an African female hybrid longwing or a European female hybrid longwing?

Oh yes it was about tracking dogs that thread wasn't it?My tkstar tracker arrived and it works great!
He's a Beagle duh.
oh knowledgeable hissy one ,i follow your drift but it's not EXACTLY right so therefore incorrect as i have lots of photos of barn owls hunting by day ,and also short eared owls hunting by day ,in fact i used that to my advantage while doing the s.e.o's they usually hunt in winter up till around 11a.m then commence to hunt again at approx 3 p.m .also little owls are active in daylight though i haven't seen them hunting .And thats exactly what the quote goes on to say. Birds of prey aka raptors are the day shift owls are the night shift.
I've seen them too, usually if food is scarce, and or the night was atrocious weather wise.i have lots of photos of barn owls hunting by day
not round here its not hissy one ,the statement i made especially on the s.e.o's is bang on .I've seen them too, usually if food is scarce, and or the night was atrocious weather wise.
So its always an exception that proves the rule.
Not forgetting the Nighthawks that dive for insects at erm, night.
its quite eerie TBH the noise the wind makes when passing through their feathers.
Raprtors will hunt Dawn / dusk and Owls Dusk Dawn, so it doesn't have to be pitch black
or bright sunlight for either to fall into the category.
Anyway don't shoot me I never classified them tis just the way it is.![]()
I wasn't arguing with you Jeff, not round here its not hissy one ,the statement i made especially on the s.e.o's is bang on .
3pm is nearly dark in the winter and if they a crap hunt during the night (food is scarcer during the winter) they will continue to hunt in daylight, feed or diethey usually hunt in winter up till around 11a.m then commence to hunt again at approx 3 p.m .also
