Does this look legit? (UPDATE - LIGHTS CAME)

Could be conceivable, and for £30 posted it's not ridiculously under-priced. I'd go for it!

Depends what you expect to get for your money. If you reckon it's going to be of Bowens, Lencarta or Elinchrom standard you might be in for a bit of a disappointment

On the other hand, if you're prepared to accept that it'll probably be crap and it turns out to be half decent then you've won a watch :D

I've bought a few things from the seller and in that respect I can't fault them....

I dont expect it to be brilliant top notch lighting.

Just enough to get me some jobs, then buy myself some decent lights, as they are like £199+ brand enw on eBay

I bought some lights and umbrellas from these guys a while ago and they are great.

They are not the same but the company [imo] were good.

My lights seemed too cheap but they did what it said on the tin, as they say.

Just persuading my mother thats the deal

The fact that the others are £199 and these are £30 should probably be a clue :naughty:

The postage looks a bit on the cheap side as well, £10 from Hong Kong? They must be on the light side (pun intended) I take it you noticed theres no stands in the kit??
Personally it looks a bit dodgy to me. Wayne

Mhmm I did. Stands arnt too much from them either.

@ FITP

I think I will be, Talking about trainers. Mine are falling apart

It could be legit.

Recycling time is up to 3 secs, where most are probably around the sec mark. You may find the colour temp isn't as consistent as some. They aren't that powerful either. I'd personally take the chance. Probably a cheap way to get into studio gear.

end of the day he cant be that dodgy look at his feedback score.
Just because the feedback score is high it doesn't mean that what's being sold isn't crap.

It just means the people that buy it don't know any better.

They might be double the price when they get here though, they're over the £18 threshold ,if they get stopped there'll be duty, VAT and a £10 customs collection fee from the courier

You really think so?

depends if they get stopped by customs, you're allowed to import goods up to £18 from outside the EU anything over that and it's a gamble whether they open it and check the value if it does get checked you'll have to pay customs duty, VAT and a £8 royal mail handling fee, if it's coming by courier they can charge more.

It's a risk, some stuff comes straight through with no fees

Blimey thats a new one on me o.O

Is that the case when its marked on the Paperwork as a gift? Nearly everything I have bought from HK has been marked by the seller as a girft and I have had no prblems at all with extra charges etc.

Keep us posted Jordie and let ius know if you order, what arrives and how much they eventually cost.

I'm looking for some extra light to light my background and these would seem to fit the bill. I'm reluctant to spend out for more Bowens if these will do.

For less than £30 for a flash head you don't have much to lose. They could be good to do stuff where there is a risk of damaging them, better to knock over and smash a £30 head than one costing a few hundred quid. In fact I'm tempted to get some out of curiosity.

Keep us posted and let us know what they're like if you get them. I'll do the same if I end up getting them :)

Will keep you lot posted. Should be coming within the week of next tuesday, cant expect it to be any later than a fortnight from tuesday

Can anyone figure out if the unit Joride's linked to will fire from IR? Or what sort of fitment it has for softboxes?

Lights came today.

Need a UK Plug adapter or if your skilled you can change the plug over I guess.

You will need to buy the hot shoe extention obviously. and of course the stands.

Hi Jordie

I also got the two I ordered today.

I'll not have time to have a play until the weekend so any feedback in the meantim will be most welcome.

Looking forward to seeing some results :) Who you getting in to test 'em? Kate Moss? :naughty: :p

how much did you guys pay all in??

Like £65.98 for 2 lamps

Do they work with an IR trigger Jordie, or do you have to use the sync cord?

I am not completly sure Chris, theres a remote dial on the back, but there is a sync cord aswell.

Give me 5 mins and I will photo and upload pictures.
