Yes
What do you feel is wrong with it? I'd be more worried about sending what will probably end up as three grand to someone in Turkey with no history of selling.....

The picture on eBay is not of a 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S NIKKOR

The tripod foot and the mount for the strap.

Thanks Andrew.

from the HK page of d'bay:

Product ID: 10E081
Serial Number: 204770
Year of Production: >2000
Number of Production: 5705
Item(s) Included:
The lens, rear cap and hood.

so that can't possibly be a 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S NIKKOR

on the lens plate in the photo it says 'AF-S NIKKOR 300mm 1:2.8 D II'

why not??? did they stop making them before the year 2000?

This lens was first announced on 10th December 2009!

At best, the lens is an AF-S II definitely not a VR of any description.

Just look at the image in Andrew's link.

eBay strikes again, hope no one on here falls for it. Reply from the Seller:

Yes you are right! Thanks! It's the Nikon AF-S 300mm f2.8 D II

Pre VR.

I was listing so many lenses I must have presumed a VR with the designation II. I've never thought of it as a lens without VR at a guess. Unfortunately I can't change the listing title as there are bids on it.

This is version II but not VR.

If there aren't too many objections I'd prefer to let the auction run it's course to save on relisting fees. Otherwise all bids will be cancelled and we will start again.

good old ebay , if the fraudster gets away with it he will be around £10000 better off :bang:

lots of neg feedback for that seller by the looks of it, avoid like the plague!

sorry but the people who have bought from this guy are mugs.
looking at that feedback, all of it was left from 28th-29th Sept, meaning previously he had little or no feedback...now if its a small item, even £50 or whatever, then sure whatever, everyones gotta start somewhere, but spending £4k with a guy with no feedback in a foreign country? :cuckoo: you gotta be mental. Feedback is there for a reason, and I'm sure the people who have been scammed are real upset and stuff and its a crying shame that there are scabs like this who will do this, but you get fraudsters everywhere, even down the high street and that (oh you've won a holiday etc.), and you can't go around all ignorant thinking everything will be ok with barely any verification - if its too good to be true it usually is. I sincerely hope they get their money back but I also hope it'll teach them a lesson not to be so stupid

edit: ok I see he has previous feedback history not shown on that page..maybe they weren't as stupid as I thought but still...
