Does Jensen Button prefer Nikon ?

Been out to see Jensen Button drive his F1 car in Manchester as part of the Vodafonbe VIP event. What struck me was that none of the official toggers seemed to have any Canon cameras, it seeemed to be all D3s galore.

Do racing teams support/ prefer a band over another?
Or is it because Nikon's better ?:lol:
 
A lot of pros got the chance to swop their Canon gear for Nikon D3's a couple of years ago. They were given good trade in allowances by Nikon who, if rumour is true, trashed the white lenses in order to take them off the market. The trade in gave good values for the used Canon gear against Nikon lenses.
 
I'm surprised they did not have Olympus stuff as they are one of the team sponsors ;)
 
Don't think I saw anyone with Olympus camera inside the perimeter.
 
Whilst talking to a pro who was shooting some football i was watching, he said to me that he got to trade in his 1d mk3/2n's for the new Nikon D3 stuff when it came out, He said he did it as he got more gear out of it than he had for very limited amounts of cash.
 
Yup I believe a few people on here did the same deal.

Generally I find it's a mix between the two major suppliers at sporting events. It's just it's easier to spot the White canon lenses as they stand out.

As for Jensen I'm not aware he's a photographer. Lewis and him did do the fashion shoot for Vodaphone, but I can't remember what camera systems they used.
 
After seeing Jenson Button's latest adverts (shampoo, how cool is that? :shake:), if he does use any camera's it will be the one he is paid loads of cash to use.
