Does anyone use pen and tablet to edit?

I use the A5 sized Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch and find it really intuitive and more accurate than a mouse. Depends on your budget as to which one you go for, but Wacom are generally considered the best in the market.

Snap, could never go back to using a mouse now

Takes a short while to realize that the tablet becomes the 'screen' so to
speak as I foolishly kept repositioning the pen to move the pointer :bonk:

I'm intrigued. I have just got one of these, but can't try it until my new PC comes.
I was expecting to move the pen to move the pointer too? Is this not the case then?

I have the bamboo pen tablet (had the touch but kept stuffing things up touching the tablet the wrong way) and my ex has the intuos 4. It really depends on how ,ugh you want to do with it. If you want simplicity I can highly recommend the pen tablet. I would suggest the pen over the pen & touch, but that's from my personal experience.

Wacom certainly, Intuos for more accuracy over and above the bamboo. I'm on the Intuos 3 wide which is perfect for 2 side by side screens.

I'd upgrade to a v4 at some point when mine breaks if they are available still, but not sure I personally need the touch features in the v5.

I wouldn't want to do retouching on a mouse and for the life of me can't believe I did before I got a tablet. It took a few weeks to get used to it, and now I'll happily use the pen to navigate in PS rather than the mouse. For accuracy and quality the pen/tablet really is the way to go.

I have a Wacom Intuos which I use a lot. In addition to it being more intuitive for retouching and whatnot, I also find it less of a strain on my wrist than a mouse.

Yes, the pen moves the pointer. Perhaps I didnt make any sense

Example : If you put the pen in the bottom corner of the tablet, the pointer
will be in the same bottom corner on your screen. If you move the pointer
towards the opposite upper corner, the pointer will also go to the same
corner.

If using a mouse on a mat, you usually need several pushes to get the
pointer from corner to corner.

Hope that makes sense (hic, had a drink)

Actually you can set it up to work like a mouse OR for the tablet to be in effect a copy of the screen. It will give you the option either way when you install it and set it up.

I have mine set up as a copy of the screen too, but I thought I should point out that you have the option of either.

I think they have a button (well the intous 4 does) to switch between monitors...you might want to double check this tho..I only have 1 so ive not really explored this!!

I use a Wacom Intuos A4 tablet, yes. Retouching with a mouse is a nightmare... I really don;t understand how anyone can do it.

Mike do you have a model number for your Intuous as Im looking at getting one which will operate 2 monitors easily

Model number is: PTZ-631W

or alternatively Intuos 3 A5 wide

You can'r readily buy them new as they have been superseded twice but eBay has them for about the £100 mark used but boxed and complete.
