Does anyone know how this style of fashion photography is done?

view portfolio.... choose cost effective and scroll along until you see the blue vest.

We are after having our next catalogue use this techinique where it looks like the garment is being worn but you can inside, as if the "invisible man" is wearing the garment.

Is it an elaborate setup of manequins or is it done in photoshop?

Thanks

Sorry I don't know, but I agree it looks great and I'd also be interested in finding out how it was done....unless of course the invisable man really is out there...or woman in this case:lol:

Sorry I'll let the intelligent answers come now:bonk:

R:love:

I honestly don't know for sure but I would suspect that the garment is modeled on a manequin, which is then removed in Photoshop  It would be quite easy to do imo

Would have thought it was photo shop, with either a clear dummy, or maybe a croma key (blue/green) dummy so they can instantly delete the colour.

The general answer is its done in photoshop.

If you look on websites like

www.topshop.co.uk

you see they use a similar technique but in some shots you can see the clear maniquin used.

How would they put the back of the straps in or the back of the garment?

It looks fairly simple. I'd say the garments which conform to a body shape have either been shot on a mannequin or a live model* and the wearer removed in photoshop leaving the shape of the wearer. The inside parts of the garment would be added from separate shots of the garment.

* I actually typed 'love model' Thank god I noticed before I posted.
