Does anyone know how many stops film is?

Your average sunlit day has a contrast ratio of around 100,000:1 and you only see 10,000:1. So when you compare that to the contrast ratio of a 32bit HDRI of 4,294,967,296:1 I think I'd call it HDR :)

Hate to be dumb but what is the point of have a ration of 4,294,967,296:1 when the human eye can only see 10000:1 :bonk:

More data to play with. Thanks for the info guys, its been an interesting read along with other material. I've learnt a lot more about how the whole process really works, and understand photography a little better.
