At college on Tuesday before a studio session I formatted my CF card thinking I'd transferred my photos fom York onto my main PC already...

I went to look this morning and it turns out I hadn't transferred them at all and now I've lost them :(

I'm not amused!
 
Ouch - I've done that before. Live n learn my friend ;)
 
you say that now but you havent seen the studio pics :p

It was my first ever session using lighting so was more of a gentle breaking in session :)

I'm more annoyed about losing my York pics than I would be about losing the studio ones, we're doing it again next week in the studio but using 2 lights this time.
 
You may still be able to recover some. Download something like BadCopyPro (I use this) and see if it can recover any images. If at your studio session you filled your card it's highly unlikely there will be any left though.

IO have reformatted a card and still recovered every image because I realised as soon as I'd done it and didn't write over the card again until after running it through BCP.

It's a real bummer when this happens.
 
Iv' t to make that mistake but I suppose it is something we will all do at some time:)
 
Buy a new Sandisk card and get a free copy of RescuePro you should be able to save somr of your images.

You only get that if you buy the extreme III, but they cheap enough at the moment. Great piece of software, it managed to recover pictures that my little had taken then decided he was going to delete them. Think I've got a disk and licence that I haven't installed, could mail it to you if you like.
 
Thanks all, and many thanks to Kendo :thumbs: for the offer of the rescuepro disc which I've accepted and will try as soon as it arrives.

It's a mistake I hope I won't make again!
 
Update - I finally got around to trying the software, and not only did it retrieve all the images I'd lost but also got pics from as far back as August 07! (which I didn't need but am still impressed with nontheless :))

This was amazing advice, i downloaded it last night and have recovered some photo's i lost a year ago due to my card reader having a tantrum! Thank you for recommending it, :clap:
 
Glad you got it sorted Braeden, nothing worse than losing pictures.
 
Yeah that sandisk software is damm good, I recovered images from a card that had been formated 5 or 6 times, still wasn't the ones I was after tho!!!! but at least I know the program works, for future cock ups:D

Glad it worked for you. Has helped me a couple of times (I'm a lot more careful now. Good for when friends mess up and they think you are amazing at getting trheir images back :)
