I have the STL files from a contact in the USA

Send them over I'll print them for you. Black ABS be ok?

Sure, depending on size and printing time I might have to do them on a weekend anyway :)

sent you a PM :-)

This is what they look like :-)frame support left and right pic.png

@Steep this is an early multi jointed version, the files you have are a single 9-slot version hope this makes sense.
8 slots are evenly spaced and the 9th slot has a larger gap.

the blow pic shows the board fitted with early versions.

Ah, got you, should be easy enough then :)

I know nothing about 3d printing but the parts look like a single piece x2 (left and right side) is that what you see?

Each one is a single piece and they are joined by the board slots bolted between them it looks like. An easy enough print to do, nice straight lines lol

Thank You Sir :)

Was happy to help. To be honest I was a little worried that the dimensions would not be correct but it seems they fit well :)

first impressions looks good, haven't looked close at the hole line ups but the bracket ends look spot on

its essentially going to be modern day variant of below.
I have so much work to do it could take years to complete

your help with these will make this project shine, thank you.

The holes can be stretched or enlarged as needed as long as the difference is not huge.

to be honest they are just the board guides and there is a bit of lee-way with them its not an exact science :)

S100 vintage computer
There's a blast from so far in the past it's even before when I got involved in home computers (which was 1981 with a ZX81). Ever since I started learning about personal computer history I've had a hankering for an Altair 8800, though the reality is if I do eventually go for something vintage it's likely to be a much easier to accquire PiDP-11, again based on something from way before my involvement in IT.

its the same for me, i came into computers (business) in about 1987 it was already 286/386 by then but the company i was working for still supporting some old 8080/6 and cp/m 68000 stuff, i then spent about 10 years working for that company building all the kit through to when I left Pentium III stuff, i then slipped left into Wintel install and support etc and pretty much left the hardware behind. I took early retirement at 54 nearly two years ago and since then have been wondering about a project to get my grey matter working and also wanted a proper challenge, not just buying random bits of ebay and ending up with a generic box running W3.11 or windows 95 etc. I wanted older then I saw an Altair/Imsai it just intrigued me the whole eco system so yeah i am diving in and building an S100 chassis and then I will buy/build boards for it :-) what you see above is just the start.

So are you planning to design and solder up your own CPU / memory and so on circuit boards as well? Sounds a fabulous project.

not entirely to that level although i do plan on building some boards that have been designed by others, I want to purchase a few old classic boards like a Z80 processor boards and serial uarts and also some older ram boards, but will be building a few of the other boards out there for sure, its a long term project :) I am however building the chassis and all the power supply units as well its going to keep me busy.
