I have just had my Nissin Di622 firmware updated at Kenro and what a great service they do. Sent off and returned all done in a few days and they even pay return postage.

But I still cannot use my Nissin flash with my Yongnuo RF603 triggers.

Does anyone know of any triggers what will work and this is the Nissin Di622 Mark 1 version

any help appreciated

I though the firmware upgrade was the fix based on the Nikon version, I think the Canon version is missing some kind of circuit board fundamental for the centre pin to trigger the flash...this is why I sold my Nissin(Gutted as it was great flash) as I wanted it to used as OCF...

Dan.

There are some known issues with that flash, reverse-engineering compatability and all that, though I'm surprised the firmware update didn't fix it. It will maybe work fine with another trigger, maybe not.

But to be sure of making it work, get a basic trigger without the multiple iTTL foot contacts. Get one with just a central firing pin - it can't get confused with that ;) though you'll lose the remote wake-up facility.

I have another set of triggers somewhere I will dig them out and see if they work...

Its a shame as I love my Nissin, does a great job for not a lot of money

Well funny you say that about the firmware as when I emailed Kenro and thanked them I mentioned it still did not work and they said.

we have updated a lot of flashguns now and have not had many that still do not work.

Maybe you're unlucky. I know for a fact that Yongnuo change the specs from time to time without any anouncement.

I have two RF-602 triggers, one with a PC socket and the newer one without, and speaking to a retailer recently (Premier Ink, maybe give them a call re this, speak to Andy) it can be a bit of a minefield. They work with almost all guns, but the odd ones out are both unpredictable and variable as the problems are threefold - camera, trigger, gun - and they can all change...

Maybe a newer version RF-603 will work, but if not the single-pin route will.

Just an upate to this in case anyone searches in the future

My Nissin Di622 does work with my radio triggers after firmware update. I had the flash in wrong mode.....duh!

I always assumed the flashing power levels lights was the wireless trigger mode on flash but it looks like steady lights are as thats what works......
