hmmm, tbh if its too good to be true- would a D90 go for that low????
personally i wouldn't use the proverbial barge pole!

Yeah I agree, its just the way it was described on there looked true... 'slight bit of wear on the magnify button from where my fingernail scrapes'..'upgraded to a Canon 7D, so need the funds'...I think the wording on the email doesn't look true, but I was curious to hear if anyone has heard of the DHL service where they hold the money?? I won't go thrugh with it though, as you say looks like a scam.

DHL in mainland europe do a COD service, but doesnt sound like that, basically you go into the local DHL office with your bill/ invoice, pay them then the seller sends the item

i notice it says Price 240.00 pounds.

This would alert my suspicions even if the rest of the email didn't. ANY supplier would call it GBP or Pounds Sterling.

Pounds could be anything. Egyptian, Syrian or simply pounds of rice!

I'd walk away now before you lose any money.

Right, thanks for the advicet, will ignore the email.
cheers ;)

heck, slimy g**. tks for that, will be more alert in the future. :)

I wouldn't buy a packet of polo's with western union let alone a camera

Lawrence. You may wish to remove your full name and address.

Reasons to run a mile:

1) Found it on Gumtree

2) Too good to be true

3) Western Union

4) Found it on Gumtree

5) Seller out of the country

6) Repeated and totally unnecessary mentions of DHL

7) Found it on Gumtree

8) If it reads like a scam ......

9) Found it on Gumtree

Want any more reasons to run?

Lawrence, seems like you're learning at last! I mean that in a nice way of course! :)

Very cheesy (too cheesy reference to DHL, Western Union) etc. I would be absolutely gobsmacked and never trust my judgement again if this is legitimate ( and trust me it will take A LOT for me to lose faith in it)

Scammier than a scammy scam thing on national scamming day in scam land.

:bonk:thanks all, aye I am indeed learning to be even more cautious! tks for removingmy addy mods, yup I should've done!:bonk:

If anything is coming from Italy or Nigeria or your being asked to send it to Italy or Nigeria then leave it well alone.

Western union payments are ok but it has been given a really bad name over the last few years with the Nigerian scammers so everyone just avoids it no unless they are sending money to people they know.

Craigslist is far more popular in the USA - it hasn't really caught on here. We turn up stolen goods all the time on Gumtree, but the practice seems to have died down considerably after a number of our locals were caught through it. Gumtree administrators are also far better at removing adverts for blatantly stolen goods these days.

there is some poor [PLEASE DON'T TRY TO BYPASS THE SWEAR FILTER] in Nigeria trying to sell some stuff, and hes probably wondering why no-one will buy from him..:D

Good scam spotting there folks, I wont buy anything unless a)I collect b) somone else pays :)

btw if you google that address, it appears to be the AC Milan stadium...
