Do you tog?

Is it the width or the length that's important when togging and how many use just one hand???
 
I'm a new togger, not quite got my technique right yet
 
Well Ive preferred togging alone since I first picked up the habit, although occasionally I do let my brother watch, and sometimes he even gets in on the act too.
Recently though, Ive been togging with a fellow TP'er, and when he slipped me his long length last week, Ive found Ive now become quite attached to his equipment!

I've found that the wider the end the better results you get generally speaking, but it really does depend on the experience of the user and how they use the equipment.

I was a lone togger until recently, was a bit nervous about my first tog in front of a group, but they were happy to tog along with me and that made it easier to finish without blowing all over the place.
 
I like togging at Motorsport events, getting my equipment out and swinging from side to side is so much fun (I've got to careful not to to hit peiople in the face with it)

Sometimes my canon gets a bit heavy so I support it on my wifes shoulder before shooting.
 
I rarely tog at all, I can't be bovvered. My equipment just lies around unused. I do however like to read about togging and other peoples togging endeavours.

So, jokes aside, does anyone really use the term "tog" in real life? "Lets tog that! I'm off togging." Anyone else think that it sounds a little seedy? Well, I think the responses so far have shown that it can easily sound a little seedy :)

Not generally, no, only here :shrug:
 
Guess its just me. As everyone has shown, it can certainly sound it in the wrong context. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I do like the classic phrase, photographer to tog.

Yeah i do sometimes, like i go out the door i just shout out i'm going out "i'm going out with the togs" but that is not the same as "i am going out togging really" :lol:

It's not a phrase I'd use around mates who aren't into photography as it sounds a little nerdy, I think, rather than seedy.

Canon white lenses, nikon black lenses etc. etc. make your own jokes up cause I'm not going down that route on a public forum.;)

I find 'tog' is too similar to 'tug' for me to use in conversation.
I've heard Joe Mcnally say 'photog' which I find a little more acceptable but still it doesn't replace 'photographer' :help:.
 
I find togging everyday relaxes me, noo i don't mean to sound rude this time but when i am out togging it's me and my camera time and piece and quite :)
 
Well I might as well gat a blatant plug in for my Flickr account, so obviously yes, I do, "rob the tog" and proud. :p

I've never used the phrase, it just seems a bit daft ......

Now chimping, thats a word I use :thumbs:
 
Well I`m just learning all this togging m`larkey...

But really enjoying it.

Doing it the whole time now. My hands are always busy... :D

Would like to do some group togging too... :p

Occasionally I feel embarrassed when I get caught togging alone in the early hours of the morning. Yesterday, I was caught togging in a hedge by a woman walking her dog. I felt very silly, but quickly remedied it by whipping round my equipment and togging her and her dog too. Happy to say that put a big smile on her face, although the dog wasn't too amused.

Inexperienced people are most impressed by length, but the pro's know that it's all about girth :naughty: :nuts:
