I was sent this email, and wonder just how lucky I am to be so be so honoured. Do you think I should reply :thinking:

I apologize for sending you this sensitive information via e-mail instead of a Certified mail/Post-mail. This is due to the urgency and importance of the information.This project is based on Trust, confidentiality and sincerity.Dont feel skeptical about this sudden letter coming from a remote country far away and probably from someone you are not closely related with.But all the same,I believe we do not need to be of blood relatives before we can establish cordial relationship.

I am General Joel Mills,Director National Security Agency (DIRNSA), Chief, Central Security Service (CCSS) and Commander, United States Cyber Command stationed in Afghanistan for the NATO peace keeping.As you may know that all NATO peace keeping soldiers in Afghanistan are attacked by insurgents everyday.On the 27th august 2011 death of Al-Qaeda's second-in-command, Atiyah Abd al-Rahman Multimillion mansion in Marja the northern part of Afghanistan was invaded some troops which was led by me,the more we discover ammunition used for terrorism in their hide out,the more we discover treasures and at the end of that mission we gathered money worth over 50 million US dollars which was shared among us without turning it to the authority because we are the ones bearing the risk here.My own share of the Money is worth 7 million United States Dollars . You may wonder the reason why i have contacted you, but is to help me safe keep the funds until my assignment is over.

I am ready to compensate you with good percentage of the funds, No strings attached, just for you to help me keep the funds when i succeed in moving it out of Afghanistan. Note, Afghanistan is a war zone,i am planning on using a secured means in shipping the money out as military cargo through the help of the Red cross jet.I will explain more when i hear from you.Dont betray this trust i have on you ?This is risk free.

But seriously I got a phone call a while back from those idiots who say your computer is infected and you need to buy software off them etc. I pretended to go along for ages keeping the bloke on the phone and pretending to be dumb etc... He was on the phone for about 20min before he caught on shouting down the phone to me.

"You go away you....." and slammed the phone down

They have never phoned back :naughty:

Nah, if it was a scam he'd be offering the full fifty million, since he's only offering a percentage of the his cut of seven mil it must be genuine. Seems like a first rate bloke to me.
 
I suppose just about any (most?) of us could be taken in by an ingenious con, but I've never been able to understand why anyone would fall for a bizarre mail, arriving out of the blue, promising them millions in return for their assistance in moving funds out of a country. Does the hint of conspiracy and illegality lend them some sort of credibility?

Mind you, people are fooled. A friend of mine in the US, who used to work for one of the spook agencies, of all things, copied one of these to me and asked if I though it was a good opportunity! He was serious.............

today I have been cutting deals with the people who overthrew Gaddafi who have repossessed $320m of bullion , of which I am offered 40%. Sod the euromillions.....

All I have to do is fill in a form providing my bank details.... (yep because HSBC accept bullion over the counter....)

He also needs a serious geography lesson - the Al Queda strongholds are in southern afghanistan along (and over) the pakistan border - northern Afghanistan is where the Northern Aliance came from :bang:

I was begining to doubt that this guy was really a US general - until I remembered that something like 20% of Americans arent sure where britain is, then my faith was restored and I realised that this fearless comando leader just had his map upside down.

I'd also like to say how great it is that the director of the NSA is leading from the front and risking his life on comando activity on the front line of the war on terror, rather than being based back at his agency in the states, fearless of the risk of capture odf such a prominent figure by the taliban :lol:
