Do you think a war is on the way

blimey.. i think i might stop visiting the OOF section.. its bloody depressing.
top 10 people that annoy you, are we heading for a world war, country is going to the dogs, political correctness gone mad, look at my expensive new car, hangings too good for em etc etc
 
well we are at war. and it's quite i big war i think. the problem with prices rising are to do with the rapid expansion (catching up) that is happening in china and india (and other countries). what happens with capitalism is the more a product (oil, soya etc) is desired, used and therefore scarce the more the price rises. it's simple. we really have never had it so good and before very long it's going to get a whole lot worse. it's not the government that's to blame, it's the system.

There's a lot more to nuclear war than MAD, another world war is likely and the use of WMD against civilian targets is much less likely than people think, the use of tactical nuclear weapons, is not much different to the largest nastiest conventional (themrobaric) weapons.

I believe that a world war will come eventually and that the use of tactical or battlefield nuclear weapons, along with the meatgrinder like ground war envisaged by the cold war planners is entirely possible.

In the mean time, the war in afganastan will probably last 20 years (based on reading the 10 or so books and 1000's of documents produced by the russian federal army's general staff [and the preceeding soviet general staff] about their own war in afganastan.)
