As far as I'm concerned there is no need for any gadgetry whatsoever in a car, let alone gadgets that can communicate with each other and the car.

I was amazed at the amount of crap that is in the newer cars these days, and how it all seems inextricably linked.

I'm sure half the stuff in there doesn't need to talk to its un related counter part.

And I'm sure there are a few that remember this "Sci fi" series ;)

Oh get with it :P Bluetooth itsn't the challenge/issue, well not in the remote examples as listed in the linked article...But yes when the vehicle is connected to the internet and there is no IPS/IDS involved and it provides remote access to the CAN Bus for telemetrics people are asking for trouble...

I don't mind that though, he says selfishly as we've been in advanced conversations with some German manufacturers to 'deal' with it ;)

If you think hackers have gone public, what do you think others have been doing for years...

That was the tecnoolgy under discussion on the radio though, it seems even the bloody radio "talks" to the car :rolleyes:

I am with it...I'm with a screaming V6 and making proper use of the loud pedal... :D

I'm quite happy with my older car too :)
in fact in light of recent developments I may even get an older one ;)

Undoubtedly the "radio" will talk about that, and their industry analyst/expert will undoubtedly confirm. We quite like it like that :evil:

Ur, yeh it will, my car doesn't even feature OBD compatible diagnostics, if anyone wants to control my car they're going to need the keys and sit in the drivers seat.
 
Or a big pull hammer and a screwdriver...

There is always a way Alan, always a way.....Even if you have an ancient non-electronics carburettor hand starting vehicle....You are thinking without imagination ;)
