Yes
As per the title really, just wondering if you guys nearly always take your camera when you are off out or off to work?

I don't take mine with me but feel i'm missing out, so am going to look for a bag to fit my laptop, camera kit and sandwiches into so i can take it in to work with me (as i always have the laptop when i go to work anyway).

Currently looking at the Crumpler shoulder bag range (don't really get on with rucksacks).

Then just have to put up with the moans from the other half. "you've always got that thing with you"

i only ever take my camera gear out if i decide to go out and take pics, never take it to work etc though

i take my camera out with me, i dont mean when i go shopping, but i do take it to work or if im off out for a walk, i have on numerous occasions missed out on a photo chance because i didn't have my camera with me. any pictures i do take i upload to my laptop when i come home, i love waiting with anticipation to see how the image turns out :)

I carry one of mine all the time, when I walk to work I carry one of my backpacks as it's good practice and keeps me reasonably fit for an old un:thumbs: My kit is in three bags either a Lens Trekker or Photo trekker sometimes a Magnum, the first 2 weigh at least 20kg's with the kit I carry because it's not all camera kit some of it is what I would call associated kit ie cam net, binoculars etc:thumbs:

I have regretted not carrying my kit on more than one occasion so now it goes everywhere with me, even shopping, on the bus, in town etc :thumbs:

I always have a camera of some description with me. For those days when just going to work I have a Canon Powershot A720 in my handbag and it goes everywhere with me as a "just in case". However it is a bit big, so I am looking at getting a new phone with a decent camera in it for those non-DSLR days.

i take my camera out when I want to take pics or when I get paid. used to carry it everywhere but soon realised it was pointless carrying it to work

Yea i always carry mine - don't know why, but i sometimes see some fantastic sunrises on my way to work, and often stop to take some :D Other night I stopped too by the river as i saw a good shot too :) so well worth it :D you never know when you'll need it :)

ALWAYS have my Oly 1030SW with me. Its small enough to fit in a pocket, is waterproof, shockproof, scratch proof and takes damn fine pics as well ;)

Good comments so far, i'm concerned that i'll get the bag and then not bother due to the weight!

I do have a compact camera which i could take around with me all of the time but iv'e got my DSLR and want to make more use of it!

When I'm out yes, I always carry my G9 everywhere I go. If I want to go out and take Photos, I take the rest of my gear with me. :D I hate going out and missing a great opportunity for a Photo, hence the G9 is always with me. Or my work would be pretty scared if I took my DSLR to work! Hehe.

nope just have my phone with the camera on it, cannot really be bothered to lug it all round with me all the time only if i go to take pics then i just complain about luging it around
i should really would be good to do, just get out at lunch and things.
me = lazy :D

The D300 with the 17-55 goes most places with me.

Not any more. These days I tend to "do photography" or "do everything else".

Sometimes I regret it, and it took me a long time to realise that there's more to life than photography. Sometimes its nice just to experience the moment without trying to capture it.

Having said that I'm thinking about a G9 or G10 for those real- life moments...;)

I take mine most places, even to work, but I am field based, so "work" is not an office as such...

The few times I haven't taken it (if I am going into London on the train for example) there has been great weather and I miss a bunch of good opportunities:shake:

Certainly at least a compact! On days when I want to take (D)SLR/Lenses/Laptop/Lunch the FStop Bard is spot on.

Yes I always have a camera of some sort, the best camera is the one you have with you.

Since getting bitten by the bug a few years ago, I have carried my camera everywhere. I'm never more than 5ft from it  I even take it to bed because I am frightened of being burgled and them taking it! They can have everything else but not my camera thank you very much!

D50 lives in my day bag so its with me all the time.

Always take my camera with me, last week took some recycleable stuff to the dump for work, and lo and behold appeared a rainbow, managed to get about 3 really nice shots of it...

Fuji s6500fd for the moment

I usually have cameras & vid cam with me. You never know what will happen.

I try and keep the camera with me when driving somewhere but its not always taken out of the car depending on what I am doing. I usually plan and go out with the camera rather than just go out and then come across things.

I'm trying to get in the habit of taking my camera everywehere, that's why I bought a compact little daysack for it. So often I think 'I wish I had my bloody camera with me'. It happened yesterday actually when I thought 'great, I'll get the camera out...oh b****r...batteries on charge at home' :bang: D'oh!

Although I did take my camera off a 60 metre abseil with the holster attached to my harness

Yeah, I cant go anywhere without my camera

Then if I do leave it behind and I see a good photo, i dont let the person who made me leave it behind, forget :D

The only camera which goes with us when we're out, is an ancient Nikon Coolpix 2100.

I rarely have my camera with me, even when i should do. Forgot to take it with me to se ethe Top gear live show last thursday :( where i could have got some really nice pics. So I rarely carry mine about.

Many seem to have the G9 that they carry with them at all times. I had looked into it but could not really justify the price of one. And other manufactures did not seem to have anything to compete with it. Hence the big price I guess. If they come down closer to £200 now the G10 is out, then think I'd consider getting one.

Nearly always got my phonecam on me and very often have a compact in my pocket. Carrying the DSLR seems to ensure that anything worth taking an SLR shot fails to happen or that the wrong lens is fitted.
