Yes
I do. I gave them a call to cancel as wouldn't be using it that much whilst prem league not on, and they offered me it for just £3 a month until september rather than £15!

Worth ringing them even if you use it for more :naughty:

many thanks, I'll be trying that this weekend

Cheers, I too was going to cancel over the summer so I'll see if they offer me the same.

They will generally do this with many things. I assumed it was more common knowledge but obviously not. Sky really dont seem to like people leaving, have read before of people being offered silly deals to stay.

becarefull sky do call bluff sometimes

i was having big problems with my sky + box and told them this was the 3rd box in 13 months now

when i told them i will cancell if this problems doesnt get fixed (hoping for a extra month free or a extra channel free for a month ) she said no problems i will cancell the whole package

me - said no problems im sure virgin will be happy with my custom

sky - said im sure they will

now this was after i had been with them for 5 years WTF

i kept with them only for one reason sky 1 and the simpsons i know im sad but if it wasnt for that i would of left ages ago bad customer services that is

Wahey!

I thought this thread might disappear into the abyss below "word association", "say something nice about the person above you" and "What clothes (if any) should I wear today?"

Report back how you get on?

I called them a few months ago simply because i wanted to reduce my monthly payment of £52 a month.

First I asked them to remove MUTV (£5 a month) so I was down t0 £47

It was then a toss up between ditching 'Movies' or 'Sports' so I decided to ditch the 'Movies'

This she was happy to do and my monthly payment down from £47 a month to about £40.

She asked me to hold the line - then came back on and said if I wanted to keep the Sport AND the Movies - I could have them both for £32 a month.

When I asked her she said that it's in their interest for people to have access to Box Office (where they make some extra money) even if it means a cheaper monthly payment.

They call me ALL the time trying to sell me Sky sports and Sky movies. When I tell them that I don't watch movies and hate football, there's a stunned silence...

Then they offer it to me for next to nothing (admittedly for 3 months or so) - which of course makes total sense - I don't like either subject, so sure I'll have it for free...

It's more to do with the number of subscribers they have - regardless of what you pay, you are considered a "captive" audience therefore they can charge more for the commercials etc.

I was with sky for years then canceled the lot, for months I kept getting come back to sky letters offering incentives which I wasn't interested in then they offered 6 months free sky world with no option to keep it after the six months was up so I took that then canceled after 6 months.

They must have sussed i'm not going to pay for it anymore because i don't get the letters now.

still £3 for a channel you're not going to watch is a much better deal than £15 for a channel you're not going to watch:nuts:

Virgin has Sky One............. and two and three

Virgin has Sky One............. and two and three

And, if you have a virgin phone line, the M tv package, which includes Sky 1, you can get for about £5 a month. Heck of a lot cheaper than Sky....but cable isn't 99% coverage!
