Do you have a favourite month for photography

Yeah probs same, maybe early jan, only *** this year we had snow xD!

Because* god you cant short word anything on here lol

Probably early october here too, like you say the colours are just magical on a warm sunny evening. I'm probably known on this forum as a prodominantly black+white photographer, however in autumn I actually do take colour images! Lol.

Toguary, Camtember or maybe Pictober?

Late September/early October gets my vote too...I take very few landscape photos during the summer months - it's normally too hazy/harsh during daytime and sunrise/sunsets are rarely as spectacular as winter

Each month offers something different, especially in wildlife terms. So at the risk of sounding flippant, I'd say my favourite was the month I'm in.

Probably the summer months as thats when all the music festivals are on, but any month apart from January really as theres literally nothing going on within the live music scene then.

Nah not flippant.... Only too true in wildlife photography.

love September... my drive to work includes a corridor of horse chestnut tress... about mid-september they are gorgeous shades of red, yellow and green. love May too - all the flowers and blossoms and daffodils all coming out.

I'm with Richard on that with possibly a slight bias towards the summer as I don't get as wet.

I'm not bothered about what month it is as long as it's bright and sunny. I've just spent the day at Whipsnade Safari park and the bright sunlight has definately done great things for my photos. Oh, my shiny new Canon 550D also helped.

Probably June. It's my favourite month, full stop - mainly because it's the month we go to Crete. In June, there's still plenty of moisture around, so spring flowers haven't faded too much and the dust hasn't settled on everything.

Early Autumn is probably my favourite season here in the UK - sunsets get colourful, crops get harvested, roads down here get less crowded and caravanny!

Summer Solstice week, north west Highlands. Then Wintert Solstice week, north west Highlands :)

Two extremes and if lucky, the light is absolutely flawless. You need to shoot overnight in the summer solstice...sleep all day :)

Not at the moment  trying to find it

I don't particularly have a favourite. Like Richard, I can find something I want to shoot every month. :)

Can I just put in a vote for august?

By mid-August in this neck of the woods the autumn colours have started in a normal year, believe it or not. For most of June and all of July the landscape is mostly just one shade of green all over. By Mid-august the trees have gone a very much darker green which can stand out almost black against green fields. Wild grasses have finished flowering and begin to go brown and die back, adding more colour. And I think what i love most of all about august is to see wide expanses of heather in flower.

Nights are longer which means there is a greater chance that valley fog will form. And I can be up at both ends of the day and still get a decent nights sleep.

I note there are several votes for September. Strangely I find that once the first week or so is over, colours overall become slightly more subdued than those of August.

As Downunder our seasons are reversed I'll nay talk months but seasons.
My preference is for winter light when due to the low sun one can shoot at almost any hour of day.

Whichever month the leaves change colour that year.
