Do you do this with dust removal? Lightroom

I've just noticed this tips video,

And at 9:40 it says about using the tone curve to see dust as a darker image

I hadn't noticed this before, is it really necessary?

I've done seascape shots and just tend to use LR heal to get rid of the visible dust and my prints look fine nor do i notice any other dust?
 
It's a good tip for working with photos you've scanned, especially old ones. But I'm like you: I just make sure any dust or other sensor spots are invisible. I suppose that if someone loaded your photo into Lightroom and did what Scott Kelby did with the tone curve, they might see the ones you missed, so my advice is to keep your photos away from Scott Kelby. ;)

So really its not worth the hassle in doing the whole tone curve thing? Though its a good tip etc...

I shall carry on with any visible dust then i think which saves a lot of time!
