Do you beep or not

Off for me, I back button focus in AF-C 99.9% of the time anyway.

Cameras do beep?

But then again, I am hard of hearing. :D

ON
Because on the rare occasion it might stop some half blind nitwit walking into your shot.

Just had to check :cuckoo:

It's actually on, but I mostly have it in servo

On because it can be useful, you can set the volume so I just have it loud enough for me to hear it.

Mine is off.

Firstly, there is no point as I can't hear it at all.

Secondly, when taking photos of someone who didn't notice you trying to take photos, no point in the beeping thing letting them know what you were doing, you may as well scream: "Hey you!! Look at me, I'm taking a photo of you!"

And thirdly, although I would image it is hardly a worrying matter, it's not like it's as power hungry as the screen so it's not something worth worrying about, but I would image if you were busy taking photos after photos after photos, add up every beep after beep after beep, it use a tiny bit of battery power, it may be a tiny bit but this tiny bit could be worth one more shutter click. Well, just my imagation.

Beside....

Isn't the whirrrrr of the auto-focus, the click of the shutter, and in the old days of film cameras, the whirrrr and crack-crack sounds of motordrive and film advance, enough to tell people you're taking a photo, without having to add the beep?

May as well bring a drummer and his drum kit, every time you want to take a photo, the drummer may as well do a drum roll for you!

Def off , reminds me off the beeping gizmo at the side of my bed when I was in hospital drives me nuts.
