Do u bring your camera to work?

not sure about this, especially Uni. you'd get dragged to all sort of places, carrying an expensive equipment may stop you from enjoying yourself. besides, most of those places won't be ideal for photos, so might as well have the good (mostly fussy) memories rather than have a bad memory of protecting your gear.
 
It's always with me. You never know when a good picture will be ready to be taken. And as it happens, it is always when you don't have a camera with you.

Size does help - I use micro43 camera/lenses.
 
I am lucky I work in an office alone but my boss is in USA, and we hardly talk (he just wants results and a daily report) and I am allowed to work 2 days from home. In these boring moments I grab the camera and start snapping anything I see (mostly my desk :-) and the sandwich boy) and of course I read this forum :-), it became a habit to carry it (complete system with 3 lenses except the charger ), I carry my laptop, my camera bag and 2 mobiles phones and an Ipad is on the way :-)
 
I sometimes do if it's light enough (short days here!) as I sometimes drive to work past deer or elk that I'm trying to get good shots of!

I used to in my old job as it was on a 1960's industrial estate and hence quite run down. My most recent job had a strict no camera policy. These were both in engineering.
I'm back at uni now so dont take a camera with me and when I graduate I'll hopefuly be teaching in a primary school so no photos there either.
 
I never take a camera to work - my site and job are covered by the official secrets act as I work in the defence industry, so cameras are absolutely not allowed, and you need a special permit signed by all manner of people to use a works camera. Security have been known to do random searches of cars but it isn't frequent.

Sometimes but not as a rule. When its snowed I've taken it and also everyday for 2 weeks when there was an otter sighting in the river behind the office. I never did see it.
 
I have just started to take mine and I was moments away from starting a thread of this very nature until i checked and saw this.
I have 30mins before work and an hour for lunch. I have recently taken my POTY 2013 pic on my lunch hour and i have possibly just stumbled upon Febs whilst i was out a moment ago. I work in Manchester city centre so there is lots to go at. So far, so enthused!
 
I'm out and about at work all over London and always have my S90 with me. A lot of the shots I end up taking are related to my job, but occasionally one or two for personal interest. Now and then I get asked to take some shots specifically for work use and on those occasions I bring the DSLR in.
 
I take mine. As I work for a landscape company I get to take pics of our gardens. We use these for our website and brochure. It's a good opportunity to get pics of flowers and the recent snow was good too. I get to practise my hobby and work gets a few images to use. They've also paid for a days workshop with Clive Nichols so I don't mind.
 
I have always tried to have my camera gear with me. For many years I worked within the Defence industry so NO CAMERAS and later no camera equipped mobile phones.

I started my own environmental consultancy and was able to purchase camera/video gear for my busines so have a bolted in safe in the boot of my car so always need my gear close.

My work involves such items as new industrial development and processes with Pollution Control, management of SSSIs etc. So I can be on any type of site. Since starting this area of work originally in the construction industry the use of photography has grown from producing a nice cover for a report with a few pictures within to picture rich audits which in electronic form will include video clips etc. Great fun.

So I have my business kit with me all the time.

My partner bought me a Samsung DV300F compact wifi enabled camera for Christmas (in her words "as a wind up"). Thing is I have it in my pocket all the time and started using it for preliminary shots which I wifi to my Nexus 7. I can email them swiftly to colleagues and clients alike.

Best of all, it can produce some nice shots if I see something of interest and I can just snap away.

I think I will now look at eye-fi cards for my DSLR kit and perhaps a new EOSm as my next kit upgrade.

I find my morning routine includes:

1. Wallet

2. Phone

3. Samsung DV300F

As an extra benefit the phone and camera use a micro USB charger connection so I am always able to charge on the move....

With the phone and Samsung
Remote viewfinder and mobilelink I dont always need the tablet and can control the camera from the phone.....

So great fun and more than ever I am enjoying my photography.

Just got back in to photography and doing a 365 so it goes to work with me,
the good thing is I'm a field service engineer so get to travel all over Scotland with my job.

I'm just getting back into photography after a long lay off
Just picked up a mint 1dmk11n and 28-105

Mines coming to work with me from now on
I'm a truck driver, I leave home at 1.00am Monday and get back fri or sat morning
Pretty much see all four corners of the country, and most of the bits in-between
Not uncommon for me to see the sun rise and set on opposite ends of the country

Morning all,,, yep, my camera comes to work with me, I drive about for my job and the camera lives on the middle seat of my van, some of the best bird shots I have taken have been from dangling a cannon ef100-400 out the window. I get some weird looks but,,,nevermind :bonk:
 
In my case, I always bring my camera since I am a professional still life photographer. When I was a student, I also bring mine as well since it is recommended in photography course.
 
I used to do that back in my old tomato greeenhouse working days. I always had a fully charged up Fuji S5600 to hand as I used to come across some of the most gorgeous scenery on the way to my countryside-based workplace most mornings.
It was at it's best when there were low lying mist sitting close to the ground in a frost hollow but at the same time the sun is only just rising above the horizon. It also provided the ideal setting whenever there is a colourful type sunrise.
However, nowadays I don't get to see any of that since I'm taking a break from full time employment to look after my elderly mother.
