My 100-400 IS to Fund my medium telephoto quest???

I want a 24-70 F2.8, but The wife would kill me if I spent any more on gear.. so something needs to go, and I dont really use the 100-400 much.... my liking is more towards portrait, landscape than long range.....

But I told myself I would only collect... and not sell! :( :(

Troubled... :)

Thoughts?
 
Pointless it gathering dust, Sell it, buy the lens you want, but treat the other half to a meal as well, thats what i do. (stops the usual "I Sick of you buying and selling stuff" conversations)

OK, if it was making a shed load of money for you, you would not be having this conversation. Move on to something that contributes.

If you just do it for the love of photography and she doesn't see it that way then she just has to be told! :rules:

I almost sold my 100-400 last year, I'd have regretted it.
 
if you have to you have to . but if you could keep it i would.. no help i know but thats my thoughts....
 
It's an extremely useful lens. Make sure it's what you really want to do.
 
The 100-400 is a lens high on my "to buy" list.
 
SELL IT !!!!!

If need be, get a 300 fixed, either f4 or f2.8.

Get the 24-70.

I'd only really recommend the 100-400 for wildlife, yes, you can use it for sports but it's pretty slow af compared to the 300 fixed!!

Put a Nikon mount on it and sell it to a Nikon user so they can experience real quality:lol: :lol:
Seriously though, i would only sell my 100-400 to fund a 70-200 which i'd probably use more. Although i'd also have to buy a 2tc as well.
Guaranteed if you sell it, something will come up and you'll say "if only....."

I think i may have to let it go... most of the stuff i do is under 100mm and i have the 70-200 to fall back on....
