Do all Canon lenses come with front and rear lens caps?

Yes, as Andy says, every lens should come with front and rear caps.

If you buy a body and it comes with a kit lens, the lens is wrapped separately with front and rear caps on...

Yep. However, not all Canon lenses come with hoods, but L-Series do.

Hi Nick if its the 100L macro you are thinking of it does also definitely come with lens hood as well as the end caps:)

No they don't. Most do but some of the bigger lenses don't have front element caps. They have an alternative cover though

Ah, it looks like I should have been more specific. I'm looking at these:

18-55 IS STM
55-250 EF-S 55-250 IS II
100 L Macro
MPE-65
10-22 USM

Presumably ? none of these fall into the "bigger lenses" category. (And a cover rather than a cap wouldn't be a problem in any case?)

tripod mounting rings are often optional as well.

I'm thinking that for the lenses I'm looking at only the MPE-65 has an integral tripod mounting ring. I'm planning on buying a mounting ring for the 100L.

With the 18-55 being 205g, the 55-250 being 375g and the 10-22 being 385g, would I be right in assuming they don't need to be attached with a mounting ring? (I can't find any reference on Amazon to mounting rings for any of them, or indeed for any EF-S lens.)

My 10-22 came with both caps but no hood. It's pretty light and I never thought to use a tripod mount. No damage done.

Also, recent Canon lenses should be supplied with the new 'pinch' front cap.
