Hiya
I am considering buying a 2nd hand DS40 and I would like to know if its possible to find out how many prints it has done in the printer or with software and if there is anything I should look for when testing it?

Also with the 9x6 media will it print and cut at 8x6 if you can request it print that size when loaded with 9x6 media or do you need to have 8x6 media loaded to print that size?

thanks

Hello John, it may not be easy to check the print count, although I can try and find out. Best thing to do is to ask the person who is selling it. If it is the one on eBay right now, from the lady in Birmingham, I don't think it has done more than a few hundred prints.

Yes you can do 6x8's on 6x9 media, it is on the driver settings.

Hope that helps.

I think I may have spoken to you before John? Have you got an OP1000?.

Feel free to contact me on Monday and I will see what other advice I can offer.

Hi Mark yes I have spoken to you about the OP1000, it is still in the shed knackered.

It isn't that one I think its a little over priced ok it comes with loads of 6x4 and 7x5 but they are not the sizes I sell much. and its gone from ebay as well. We have been running the 9550 no problems but I want somthing smaller, lighter and faster printing. If I get this one from a friend then I will be on to you soon ordering a box of media for it.

I saw graham show it off at focus and decided it was the one to go for and my friend has decided to sell up. He says it has had 3 9x6 rolls through it and comes with an almost full roll I was just hoping I could confirm this was the case. his kit has paid for itself so the price is good.

Ok John, thanks. If you want, give me a call on Monday and I will see what we can do. Also need to see what can be done with your Olmec.

Have a good weekend. :)

John , just tried the number I had for you , but it is dead.

Bummer, my mate has decided to keep it now seeing as it has a fair bit of media in it and that it owes him nothing if it sits there doing nothing for a few months its only taking up space. I also think the fact he has a charity ball to cover. never mind :( I am sure another low mileage one will pop up.

You mean a DS40 John? Unlikely , as people tend to keep them.

yeah that is true I have seen a few up for sale reciently this one I was buying and the one on ebay one will crop up I'm not in that much of a rush. I need to save for another 1D as well.

What about the Status Display Tool that is on your own website under downloads?

http://dye-sub-printers.co.uk/

I am sure you told someone about it a few weeks ago.

I'd like a DS80 on the cheap...

Just checked the tool on mine and it works fine.

Well done Rob! I probably deserved that! :)

LOL Mark

You can't be expected to remember everything all the time ;)

That's the beauty of forums.

I thought that was the Jocks.

EEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

On a separate note Mark is your ISP in the Sahara Desert or somewhere as remote?

If it gets any slower it'd be quicker to drive up to the shop and look round

are you referring to the Photomart website, and it being slow?

Hi Mark

It's the Photomart website. On the home page click on the DNP link and see how long it takes to load. Or do a search in the bar for DNP DS80.

Our website is slow right now, we are tryingto get to the bottom of it.

Of course , if you need to speak to someone we are here on the end of the phone.

Mark

Everywhere I go I see the summer sales with 20% off.

When will you be having your 20% off sale as I'd like a DS80

Happily pay full price for the media and accessories ;)

Rob, you missed our 20% off on Consumerables offer last weekend then?

You will not be getting 20% off on a DS80 unfortunately. Sorry. We do need to make some kind of profit.

Feel free to call me. :)
