Did one on ancestry last year as I am trying to look for a cousin who was given up for adoption and my grandfathers heritage as he was born out of wedlock.
Ancestry was good and allowed me to download and reuse my results and gedcom files on other sites.
I'm currently using My heritage which seems a little smoother - it's hard to explain. But they have a special offer on at £27.00 currently

I’m very interested in family history and was gifted an Ancestry membership fof Xmas last year. My wife then got me their DNA kit as an extra. The kit is very easy to use and seemed fairly accurate… my dad’s side are from Cornwall originally and there was a very strong Cornish connection in the results. The big surprise came on my mum’s side, with a small link to Norwegian heritage that’s never been mentioned by anyone in the family before.

My wife discovered a long lost cousin, who’s now living in the US, via another DNA site, 23andMe. They hadn’t seen each other for nearly 50 years and the cousin had been told as a child that all her mum’s family were either dead or didn’t want anything to do with her. This was all untrue and she’s since met or hooked up with a load of her cousins in the UK. She was completely overwhelmed by it all (in a good way) when she came over. She even had some old photos of my wife’s parents that she’d never seen before, so my wife was ecstatic.

I'd be interested to see what information it offers on my family's members who have emigrated, I am not interested in meeting any cousins etc. One of my Mum's uncles emigrated to the US about 100-110 years ago and it would be interesting to see where they settled etc. One of my mum's cousins was Maldwyn Thomas Pryce.

Generally the non-UK data can be a little hit and miss, the Mormon Church have a huge repository of data for US citizens and I believe this includes US immigrants.
Most subscription/packages also charge extra for international data, so I keep a running list of things I want to search and upgrade for the odd month.
