After reading bad reports about cheap £10 shock mounts and and not fancying shelling out £50 for something better, I made this out of a 40mm push fit plumbing connector. I had to buy 2 x 30mm connectors as well for the rubber seal bands. It took a couple of hours work and cost £3.90. I'm not sure what to expect from a shock mount as I've never had one before to try, but this one reduced tapping noise on the microphone stand by around 50%.
