DIY Light Stand (from the Strobist softboxes thread)

yes I have and yes it does work (just) but you do however need a screw or some way of securely attaching the trigger to the softbox as it just hangs in there very loosely

I have also ound an old microphone stand in my garage that the softboxes fit onto and act like a boom light stand....awesome DIY....you can't beat it!!!

at full reach you need to get the pivot really tight and also add a little weight to the base, other than that, its perfect

Can you tell me what size the umberella rods are as I need 7mm ones for my D-Lite 4 set.

I think its the brass adaptor that my manfrotto (and I assume other) umbrella adaptors come with - Loving this idea I may have to pick up a mic stand soonish now
