I had a bride phone me last night to see if I was available for a few weeks time as her photographer had let them down.

The photographer phoned them the day before and said he could not do their wedding as he had family coming over from France on the same date.

I told her they can’t do that I asked what it says on the contract, I have no contract she said.

I was not available for that date and she sounded so upset really felt for her. I forgot to ask her the photographer’s name, my guess is it’s no one established.
 
put the date and location up on here, if you have it, sure someone could help her out :(
 
PM'd in response to your PM. I'm available. I was planning a long weekend trip to Wales this summer anyway! :)
 
If they cant do it I'm also free that date, only live about 10 miles away. Wayne

now, if his elderly father had been run over by a bus that morning, maybe.
what an a**e.
people like that dont deserve to get any more work.
if i were the bride, i'd be slagging him off to every bridal shop,cake supplir and anyone else i new.
well done for hopefully saving her day.

Than shooting a wedding, not exactly hard that is it. ;)

She'll be in safe hands now, there are enough folks here willing to shoot these awful occasions that we could line up them up across the water and walk from wales to ireland without getting our feet wet. :D

You only have the future bride's version of events. Maybe she made an enquiry with the photographer but didn't formalise arrangements - she didn't have a contract apparently. Then when she contacted him nearer the date to arrange things he wasn't available because he wasn't booked to do the job.

I can't believe a real wedding photographer would let someone down like that as they have a reputation to maintain in the area. I think there is probably more to this than you have been told.
 
could be right there.
we have had people make enquiries about a date.even go out to see them with portfolio and albums. but not booked.
then three weeks before the wedding ring up to book. and the date has gone.
anyway, still hope she gets sorted.
 
Wow she's gonna be happy when a dozen quality shooters turn up at her wedding :), better than wayne rooney's LOL. Seriously this is a great responce to a bride in need, i'm humbled!!. Kind regards Graham.
