Am I missing something here?
Rang 2 computer shops to enquire about buying a DisplayPort to DisplayPort lead. One sounded astonished and surprised at the request and another one asked was I sure I had a graphics card?? Eh? I was asking for a lead. Then he said "Yes, but whats the end connector?" .....Ermmmm it's DisplayPort...similar to a HDMI connector.........
Surely this is quite basic stuff to a computer store?
Anyway PC World had one in but the description states as only going up to 1080p...would that be right as I thought the idea of that particular connector was to get higher resolution?
Can anyone help or recommend one please? For a PC by the way.
Thanks

ebay. Will be about 10% of the price of PCWorld. Don't know of any restrictions on DP cabling, but check what is claimed....

to be fair i can probably count on one hand the amount of people ive seen ever run displayport (mini displayport aside).

still, its pretty common on graphics cards the last few years with the mini taking over recently.

Having just moved to 3 monitors, I now run DP....

Amazon and eBay.

I used Displayport about two and half years ago with 5870 and my U2711 monitor. Worked brilliantly until I went 580 :( Now I've got all the cables (mini-DP to DP and normal DP cables), just not the graphics card to support it.

It's a fantastic design, it's much easier to use than VGA/DVI. And don't fall out when adjusting height of the monitor, unlike HDMI.

On my old laptop I had full display port to HDMI, does that count? ;)

stupid lenovo laptop
